Rest day yesterday (preparation for Lewis Sundays!) so spent a bit of time going round the DIY shops for inspiration.
Wallpaper is ridiculously priced. £20 a roll! Last time we wallpapered £20 would do an entire room. Resolved to commit to some Rene Mackintosh design paper for the living room at £8.98 a roll and had a nice surprise at the checkout to discover that it had been reduced to £2 a roll.
Today painted the eaves at the back (rather scary that high up a ladder that only just reaches) and undercoated all of the back, apart from the doors which have still got to be fitted - tomorrow’s job. Seems like progress but still a lot to do.
Ladder has arrived plus various bits and pieces from Tool Station and this evening we went to B&Q at Meir to buy paint and timber for the back and the cladding for the kitchen and garage ceilings.
All the back of the house cleaned today and the windows puttied. Removed the rotten windowsill. Much of the back below the windows needs replacing but have decided to use shiplap cladding instead.
Ladder £98.00
Tool Station - Tools and lights for kitchen and garage - £72.00
B&Q - Timber treatment - £17.98
B&Q - Paint, cladding, shiplap - £302.00
