Simple wonders

You know I still sit back in wonder sometimes at how this whole internet thing works. Take for example the widget over on the right that says Recently Played. I play a new album in Windows Media Player and it creates a small file on my computer in England which it then sends all the way to Houston, Texas where my webhost is. When the album information gets there the server in Houston calls up Amazon in San Francisco to find an album cover then puts the two pieces of information together and displays it all on the blog which I then get to see back in England. And all that happens in seconds! That really is very neat!

Now that means that I can play something on my computer and then check on my blog to see what I am playing! Not exactly useful but hopefully someone else will be interested enough to check out the artists for themselves. That’s how I discover new music.
